But productive in a completely pointless way, like hand-writing most of another scene of the auction fic, and discovering awesome websites, such as:

fuckyeahfanficflamingo. My favorite so far:

Ohohoho funny cuz it's true. *recalls purchase of 300+-page hardback circus encyclopedia...*

Also, Dear Blank, Please Blank. One hilarious example:

Dear Mario,
Bowser has kidnapped your girlfriend at least 10 times. Why in the world do you keep inviting him to go go-carting with you guys?
Sincerely,
what the heck man?

Anyway, must be off. Cleaning my apartment so my mom, my sister, and I can pretend I'm not a slob when they get here. Maybe I'll MacGuyver a way to keep the nephew from opening all the low drawers and cabinets full of yummy cleaning supplies.

Oh yeah, been there.

That's good. I'm sure they'll figure it out soon.

Heh, well, I'd say that's a "without sin, cast the first stone" situation, but I definitely wince at "cannon" when no heavy artillery is being fired. Ohhh, mine too.

It'll be okay. Hey, you know what? I used your "It's like Las Vegas without the class" line the other day- got a big laugh. :)

*snort* There's definitely one on there that is like "Cannon? No. Canon." Or something funnier. I kind of miss those days. Now I don't even have homework to avoid.

Hah, I don't even remember what that was about. Was that Blackpool?

Yeah, I didn't feel like looking it up. Heh, I didn't have that problem so much, but I would lie awake thinking about something fic-related, and often end up rolling out of bed around 1am to scribble an idea down so I wouldn't forget.

Yup. In the interview with artist!Claude. We were talking about Miami.

Oh, I totally had that problem. One last one, that best describes me.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I feel bad for ragging on Blackpool so much without ever having been there, but it amuses me.

*snort* Been there. At work. :D

Aw, well, I think Claude reserves the right to make fun of his hometown. And that would be a right he would exercise, without a doubt.

Hah. I have not yet become that depraved, but during class, definitely. And I've definitely been on LJ while at work.

Oh, Claude would definitely take advantage of his right to make fun of his hometown. But probably also send money back for improvement projects on the DL, just to help out the other confused young people.

Ha, oh, well, I have mentioned how slow my work days get. Today I honestly spent the last hour, maybe hour and a half, handwriting fic, which I just finished transcribing.

Exactly. Indeed. And just see Claude catch anyone but him make fun of Blackpool- always a bloodbath.

Heh, on Wednesday, I was having a day like that; I'd finished one of my projects and just about everyone else was out so I was going door to door trying to find something to do. I wanted to write fic but...I felt a little guilty. Next time though... ;)

Awww, Claude. I bet he gets an, ahem, hero's welcome any time he goes back home.

Ugh, I hate when I have to wander around looking for someone to give me something to do. I gave up today because it was Friday and after lunch and what did they expect, really?

Heh, you know, I'm really torn on whether or not Claude has family in England or not. He stayed in America after the Company, but one could argue that's proof he's trying to protect his family as easily as that there's no family for him to go back to. We never found out what relation if any he had to Lee and Abby.

Yeah, it's seriously a drag. Today at least, since I left early, I had a pretty full half day, and I have something to fill Monday with pretty well. And then I'll have to go project hunting again, I think.

You know, strangely enough, I think that Claude probably had at least a few really decent people in his life early on, and some of them were bound to be family members. For all his cynicism etc, he does seem capable of trusting people and being pretty loyal to them (or at least he was before Bennet). But he still had a pretty crappy life otherwise, in a pretty crappy place, plus he was probably young and stupid and one of those "run away and never think about it again" type of guys (I mean, he still is). As for Lee and Abby, I absolutely cannot believe that he would be willing to risk everything and get that attached to anyone after Peter and everything else that happened in S1 without there being some prior connection to them. So. Yeah. Claude totally has family, that he probably feels some affection for, but it was just easier to avoid thinking about them because going back would probably make things worse for everyone.
