That's someone's name, people. Their NAME. I just.. words fail me. XD *laughs forever*
Also, the first TEN people to comment in this post get to request a drabble of ANY pairing/character of their choosing from me (that I know), though heaven knows when I'll get around to them, since the only writing I've done lately has been on legal paper during my lunch break or when I'm bored. Have gotten some decent stuff though, I'll try to transcribe it tonight. Claude's finally made it to the tallest room of the tallest tower and I'm quite excited about it.
Also also, anyone else catch the first episode of V? Good stuff, methinks, very good stuff. Morena Baccarin can be so eerie and sweet and still and warm all at once, it's really amazing. And I absolutely loved the priest guy's (Jack? Another Jack? *sigh*) expression when the guy in the wheelchair stands up and says the Visitors healed him- such a perfect mix of genuine joy and genuine fear.
Okay, let's see how much of the latest
watchwomen episode I can work around Mythbusters tonight.

I can't help wondering if the parents were Buffy and Supernatural fans and decided to cram their favorite characters' names together because they couldn't decided which one to give their child. I think they should have given their hild a more normal name like "Alex" if the kid was going to be strapped with the last name "Quattlebaum" for life.

Date: 2009-11-05 03:18 am (UTC)He/She (I really can't say) was given an award at a conference my work was involved with a few years ago. "Willodean" does imply the mashing together of a couple of names, most likely a couple family members. But seriously, you'd think the Quattlebaum clan would have perfected the art of average first names by now, in self-defense.

Date: 2009-11-05 07:51 pm (UTC)Maybe they're Mormons? I hear that some Mormons like to do that, but the three Mormon families I know just gave their kids normal names like "Grace," "David," "Rose," and "Jared." No Willodeans or Renesmees that I know of. Maybe that's just a Utah Mormon thing...
I wanted to catch V, but I wasn't home. It looks pretty darn awesome, though.
