Hoo boy, it's gonna be a big old day for me. Luckily, I have been fortified with one of my most favorite breakfasts- leftover steamed dumplings and a cup of hot sweet green tea. Yum. Anyway, first up is the job meeting at 11:30, which I've got to tote my behind all the way out to Virginia for (but at least the parking's free for an hour). Since I've just about decided that the commute to the potential job in question is unacceptable, I'm basically looking at this as interview practice. That fact also makes me kind of want to wander in half an hour late wearing sneakers and sweats, ramble out a monologue about string cheese or something for fifteen minutes and leave, but I will resist.

After that I'll be attempting shepherd's pie for me and the folks for dinner, we'll see how that goes. And then it's two hours of friggin' HEROES oh boy oh boy XD. And then after that, it turns out my old Chaucer professor is going to be interviewed on this History Channel show. It's called Clash of the Gods and will air at 10pm. Excitement! He's awesome, one of my favorite professors ever, even though I only had him for the one semester. He also teaches a class on Tolkien, and will be talking about the use of mythology in those books.

Also, I just got my [livejournal.com profile] remixthedrabble assignment, which is cool, in a "yet another thing to distract me from what I should and actually do want to be writing" kind of way. Got a couple of familiar names, and one unfamiliar. We'll see what comes of it this time around.

Hah. So how did the interview go? Good practice, at least?

I also got my [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and am only now realizing that I probably shouldn't have signed up for it. Ah, well. I can get it done, I suppose.

Well, it turned out to basically be signing up for another job-placement service, which is cool I guess. Just another nice lady saying she'll find me a job. I don't know if anything will come of it this time.

Oh, I think you can manage two or three remixes. No more than 1,000 words each.

Well, that's better than nothing. Any news on the other fronts?

Heh. No more than 1,000 words each is probably going to be around about 200 words each. Well, probably more than that, but we'll see. I signed up for five (although I don't really need to do that many) because I was feeling especially creative at the time I signed up.

Not exactly better- if it had been a complete wash, I'd be able to apply at B&N without really any more hesitation. I.. can't think of any more fronts to have news on, so no.

200's good too. I think it's really the shorter the better with these challenges- remember how last time was restricted to 100 words?

Well, I think you can still apply to BN without any hesitation. You might not be able to accept a job there without any hesitation, but applying, no problem.

I think there's a limit; 100 words is tough, or at least was, for me; 200 is easier in some respects (or really, anything under 1000), but in another, if you're remixing something that's short already...

Hopefully something promising will come out the job thing. And that breakfast does sound delicious.

Well, I applied at B&N, so, that's something. Maybe. I dunno, I've got some ideas for some things I can do. I should go do them. Also, that breakfast is delicious, I gave it an encore this morning. :)
