Shoot, I got so into my hermiting yesterday, watching Emma and reading through [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda's Secret Life of Dolls posts, I kind of let this slide. And I was even looking forward to this one! So, anyway, a two-fer today to catch up. (Side-note: Heh, my icon doesn't even know what to do. I guess we'll go with something that makes me both happy and sad, The Middleman. *wistful sigh*)

Day 01 - Your favorite song
Day 02 - Your least favorite song
Day 03 - A song that makes you happy

Day 28 - A song that gives you shivers
Day 29 - A song you can't help but air-jam to
Day 30 - A song from your childhood

I'm kicking myself a bit for not thinking of this song for the "A song that makes you happy" day, because it would've been perfect. Actually, there seems to be a very fine distinction between these questions, mostly determined by your mood before turning on the song. I don't think I pay enough attention to be very accurate on that matter. Hm. Anyway, this is one of the cheeriest songs in the known universe, and I'm glad to share it. It's Electric Light Orchestra's Mr. Blue Sky, which I first heard on the trailer for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and was thrilled to find on the soundtrack later.

Also, an honorable mention I just can't leave off. Girls and Boys in Love by The Rumble Strips. This is one of the few songs that I actually have two of in my library- one from the soundtrack for Run, Fat Boy, Run and one from their album Girls and Weather (both of these are completely wonderful, BTW, and I would wholeheartedly recommend buying either/both). Normally I delete duplicates, but I love this song way too much to even think about it.

Ah, I was excited to do this one too. Also, wow, it's really Soundtrack Weekend here, because this is a track from the movie The Brothers Bloom. It's called The Perfect Con and it's... if you listen to the whole thing, you'll find it's a piece of music that says very clearly, "Things have been kind of crappy lately, but you know what? I'm going to be okay." It has never ever failed to make me feel better when I'm down. And hey, there's even a vid for it! Thanks, YouTube!

All righty, duty done! Now I'm going to see about breakfast and making a whole bunch of cookies for the office and people.

Mmm. Cookies...

Heh, I was wondering where "Mr. Blue Sky" came from when I found it on my iTunes; I guess it must've been from you.

The other one is lovely too.

Indeed. Mmm...

Heh, most likely. I don't.. really get why they used it for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind's trailer (except for the "sun" part, maybe), but I ain't complaining.

:) Glad you think so.

I was planning on making some today (or tomorrow), because my TA kids have an exam coming up and the review session is on Tuesday and I want them to like me more than the other TA. But I'm also trying to finish an essay right now so I won't have to worry about it tomorrow while squeeing about Plaude-related things.

Heh, at least you got it in the soundtrack, though! I hate it when films have music in the trailers that you kind of vaguely recognize but can't place, and there's really no where to look what they are.

Heh, well, there will be other review sessions, yes? I'm sure you can buy their love bolster their spirits then.

I'd say the best thing you can do then is either try to pick out some lyrics if there are some and Google them, or just plain Google "song preview/trailer Movie Title," odds are you aren't the only person who wants to know.

Sure, but not until the next midterm or the final and I want affirmation now! Eh, I can just buy them some candy or something tomorrow.

I have done that, but it's tricky when there aren't lyrics to the songs, or when your watching the preview before a movie and you kind of forget them.

Candy will probably work just as well.

Well, yeah, if you forget about it, then it's especially hard to look for it.
