Well, I was going to go with Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World, but I feel like that's taking the easy route somewhat. I can do better. So how about Black Birdies Come by The Real Tuesday Weld? They do amazing instrumental stuff, pieces that really climb inside you and take you somewhere else. "Black Birdies Come" may not be traditionally "sad," but you can't deny there's a melancholic feel to it. Actually, I've been toying with the idea of an all-instrumental Plaude fanmix- this would definitely be on it, if only I could find a way to edit out the talking and such at the end (silly fake "live" album).

An all instrumental Plaude mix would be pretty awesome. I am definitely on board with that.

Heh, maybe. I dunno, I feel like instrumental pieces are very subjective in how people react to them.

I'll admit that I tend to lose patience with instrumental songs if they aren't "classical" music kinds of instrumentals. I don't even know why. But I always love The Real Tuesday Weld and even that album, which is my least favorite of theirs, has grown on me.

ETA: Also there's a way to rip the music/sound from youtube videos and turn them into mp3s, so since this version doesn't seem to have the talking and such, you could do that.

Heh, it might be telling that, while I have a decent playlist of all instrumental pieces, a big percentage of it comes from movie soundtracks.

Oh, I know there is, but.. I dunno, I get nervous about it, for various reasons.

Those are the ones I always skip over when I buy movie soundtracks. *laughs* I think one of the few I enjoy is from The Lives of Others, and that piece is actually a plot point.

Hah. I do it all the time because I lack scruples. Or because it's for songs I can't actually buy, even if I wanted to.

I've found some pretty amazing ones, like Amelie, The Brothers Bloom, Eternal Sunshine and The Fifth Element. I tend to trim out certain tracks though.

I'm a little worried about how many songs I would end up stealing if I could get them off YouTube. Because it would be A LOT.
