*sigh* So an average/good day has taken a turn for the crappy. I was trying to defrost some chicken for dinner and managed to burn my righthand ring and middle finger. I'm plucking this out with my left hand while the other holds on to a towel with ice. It's kind of amazing how much the cold helps. It's seriously like "*take the cold away, wait two seconds* !@#@$##$@!@Oooowwww! *put the cold back on* Ahhh..." And I'm waiting for some painkillers to kick in. I wonder how it's going to be working tomorrow...
Anywho, I had other stuff to talk about, but now that my words per minute has been so effectively hobbled, let's just focus on what's important, eh?
'Reply and I'll give you four fandoms. You then have to make an entry writing about your favorite character from each fandom, and why.'
hermione_vader gave me Discworld, Burn Notice, Dollhouse, and Sherlock.
Discworld. Oh my god, I could never choose! PTerry creates the most amazing characters EVER! *sigh* Um, okay, fine, I guess it would have to be a three-way tie between Sam Vimes, Granny Weatherwax, and Susan. All complete badasses, all with dark sides they keep fierce control over, all utterly wonderful.
Burn Notice. Probably Sam, because Bruce Campbell can do no wrong. Heh, seriously though, I love Sam's big-brother attitude towards Michael (catch anyone else calling him Mikey? I don't think so). I'd say he's got a big-brother thing with Fi as well, in that she annoys the piss out of him as a smart alecky little sister would.
Dollhouse. While I love me some classic Whedon-speak as provided by Mister Topher, I'd say Adelle DeWitt wins my heart for being an equally classic HBIC, whether she's defending the Dollhouse or helping destroy it. And at the end, it's my personal canon that she becomes the first Shepherd in the creation of Firefly's world post-Thoughtpocalypse.
Sherlock. Heh, oh dear, this is like the opposite problem from Discworld- all great characters, but not many to choose from. I guess... I guess... John. Because he's a crack shot with nerves of steel and a strong moral compass who wears comfy sweaters and calls Sherlock Holmes an idiot. It doesn't get much better than that, I don't think.
Heh, I'm worried about work tomorrow- how am I going to sleep with this damn thing? My ice cubes are going away and it still hurts like hell. *sigh* I guess I'll figure something out.
