Picture time!

As is traditional following any excursion out of one's personal territory, it's time to proudly display the evidence of said excursion in the form of many, many photographs.

First, an establishing shot, if I may. When we weren't walking to a show or a restaurant or our hostel, we were in Central Park. It was pretty lovely.

This lump of slush presumably came from the nearby skating rink. We liked it because it looked like a miniature iceburg. I'm tempted to try to 'shop some tiny mountaineers onto it, or a boat or something.

At one point we stumbled upon this really amazing garden. It had masses of brightly colored daisies in a big rectangle with a fountain in the middle. I can only imagine how incredible it must look (and smell) in spring or summer.

Extreme flower close-up.

Aw, this was nice. A little sibling pair chasing each other around the IMAGINE on Strawberry Fields. It felt very appropriate, you know?

Topiary King Kong out in the courtyard of this super fancy restaurant, Tavern on the Green. There was also a topiary horse, elephant, rabbit, bear with a ball, and swans. Kong's my favorite.

The show we saw. It was really good. I feel compelled to mention here my brief brush with fame. While walking to the show, we had to move past the crowd of people waiting to see if Jude Law would emerge from the theater he was playing Hamlet in. As we came around, a man moving out of the crowd passed me- my eyes kind of took in just the general shape of his face before he was gone. We had gotten away from the crowd before I really realized the man was Ron Cook! Okay, maybe I only know him from Hot Fuzz and Little Dorrit, but he's pretty great in those, and, anyway, it was cool.

The Empire State Building, spotted glinting in the morning light down the street just before we got on the bus to come home.
So, that was good times. I could use some more good stuff to look forward to- who wants to go see The Boat that- oh, sorry "Pirate Radio" with me tomorrow/Saturday?
