I should go buy a lottery ticket
May. 15th, 2010 09:36 pmI've had such a strange day. At least, starting around noon. That's when my mom called to tell me to make myself scarce as people were coming to look at the house (I mentioned it was put on the market, didn't I?) between 1:30 and 2:30. When I was going to answer the phone, I tripped and broke the strap on one of the flip flops I was wearing. So, since I had an hour to kill, I went to Payless and grabbed a new pair. Then, I was all set to head to the library and read the rest of the time away, when a random impluse grabbed me and made me turn right instead of left (uh oh... < /Doctor Who geek >). I went and got some ice cream at this little coffee place, and was walking along the street back to my car, when I stumbled upon none other than
visiblemarket (who I had just seen Iron Man 2 with last night) and her mom! And they just so happened to have an extra chair at their lunch reservation, so away we went, for free food and fun times. Which wouldn't have happened if the people hadn't decided to see the house, if I hadn't broken my shoe, if I hadn't decided to turn right, and if I hadn't gone to the coffee shop for ice cream.
Another weird coincidence- I went to a co-worker's birthday party at a local bar/restaurant around 5:45, and who did I find there? Two of my cousins, who I see maybe three to five times a year. Had a nice chat with them before my co-worker showed up. I had next to no idea they were in the area.
Anyway, I just kind of wanted to record that, for when I want to be reminded that it is indeed a funny old world. Now, well, I could watch The Invention of Lying... but I think I'm going to start on a deeply silly and mostly selfish one-shot for my third Plaude anniversary /
