6. Bringing Up Baby, His Girl Friday, and The Philadelphia Story are such weird movies for me to watch. I can get all caught up in the charm and the fast talking banter and Cary Grant being his dreamy self but then there's moments of such period urg (from feminist and racial perspectives) that it throws me for a while. I have the same problem with Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, which I think I'd love otherwise for all the schmaltzy feel-good political stuff.
