XD
Hey, okay, remember a few posts back when I said one of my old professors would be on a show called Clash of the Gods talking about mythology in Tolkien? Well, I was wrong then, but I'm definitely not wrong about it being on tonight at 10pm on the History Channel! I'm so excited- yeah, maybe I had that professor for Chaucer, not Tolkien, but that doesn't make him any less cool. Check him out in this preview. He's the guy who's not the narrator ;):
See? Doesn't he give off a kind of Greg Grunberg vibe of general pleasant awesomeness? I think so. As for the episode itself, I'll bet they had their work cut out for them trying to keep it from looking exactly like the film version of The Lord of the Rings. Check out the guy playing Frodo- yeah, there's definitely an Elijah Wood élan there, from certain angles. And the basic cinematography and framing of him holding the ring over the magma... Okay, maybe there aren't that many ways to shoot such a scene, but still. Highly reminiscent.
P.S. Unseen Academicals tomorrow! Jeez, about dang time!
